School Background:

Overbrook High School is a public four-year high school in West Philadelphia. Based on the 2023-2024 Student Enrollment and Demographics, there are 394 students that attend Overbrook High with 76% of students residing within the catchment area1. It is reported that 23% of students have an IEP, and 3% of students are English language learners2. The ELA data for Keystone standardized testing reflects that 25% of students scored proficient3. As per the most recent school survey, 100% of the students are categorized as economically disadvantaged4. The school schedule operates on a 90-minute block schedule for the upcoming school year. Overbrook High offers Honors classes to all of the students and has many athletic opportunities for students. This unit is made with 9th grade students in mind.
