Content Objectives

My unit will focus on analyzing data in both math and science. The math portion of the unit will focus on solving complex single- and multi-step problems. Students will also use mathematics to collect data and interpret it using stem-and-leaf plots, line plots, and measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and range. The science objectives are aligned with the math objectives because they focus on conducting investigations, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions based on the data. This unit is a great opportunity to provide a cross-curricular approach that helps students apply what they learn about the body's biological processes and make meaning of the data they collect.
