Mitchell, Barbara. Father of the Constitution: A Story about James Madison.

Madison's life and the role he played in creating the Constitution.

Moore, Kay. If You Lived at the Time of the American Revolution. New York, NY:

Scholastic Inc., 1997. This book takes readers back to the time of the Revolutionary

War through a question and answer format.

Rockwell, Anne. They Called Her Molly Pitcher. New York, NY: Dragonfly Books,

2002. This book would make an excellent read aloud. It tells how a brave woman

helped the Continental Army in the Battle of Monmouth. This book also has

wonderful illustrations.

Sterman, Betsy. Saratoga Secret. New York, NY: Dial Books for Young Readers, 1998.

This is a terrific historical fiction set in upstate New York. It starts out a little slow,

but is full of action and surprises.

Welch,Catherine. Patrick Henry. New York, NY: Barnes & Noble Publishing, Inc., 2006.

This easy to read biography tells about Patrick Henry's life.
