Demographics

I am a high school math teacher at South Anchorage High School, a secondary school in Anchorage, Alaska. Our school is in the Anchorage School District, which is one of eight comprehensive high schools. Our school has approximately 1400 students and our school district has over 48,000 students.  The Algebra 1 course in this district is designed to be a foundational course for advanced mathematics and serves as a critical juncture, where students begin to decide whether there is interest in pursuing further mathematical studies beyond an introductory level.
