This lesson is designed as a final culmination performance project after students have been fully introduced to Classical Japanese Theatre. As a result of this exciting curriculum unit, students should produce thought-provoking and engaging theatrical performances.
- In cooperative groups of three to five actors, students are to select a scene from a classical plays, such as William Shakespeare's Hamlet.
- Using their knowledge of Classical Japanese Theatre, students are to produce their scene using elements from each of the classical styles studied.
- Each cooperative group will perform their scene before the class for critic and discussion.
