Tools for this Unit:

Art, Science and Language

This lesson will have differentiation with language. Students may choose to write text in their artist book in the language that they have greatest fluency in. This lesson will be taught in English and Spanish to accommodate most of the students that are bilingual or multilingual. Students will be given prompts and facts about mosses on handouts to assist them with writing in both languages for text in their common place books. A smartboard will also be used to display large images and text for all students which provide additional enlarged visual aids. Students will be provided with general, specific and visual arts vocabulary to help them articulate their ideas about moss characteristics, environments and adaptations in their commonplace books.
