Appendix - A

Through the work in this unit you will be addressing the 4th grade math Common Core State Standards. The beginning activities in this unit will help students develop their sense of a unit fraction, which addresses 4.NF.3 and 4.NF.4A. Then students will use this knowledge to help them decompose fractions with same denominator, which addresses 4.NF.3B. With their understanding of fractions the students will then apply this to real world problems addressing 4.NF.3D.
