My innate ability to find that special thing in a student and to grow and develop with them has completely, intrinsically, and holistically transformed students' lives and given them different perspectives. Our students at Hearne ISD have proven themselves not only locally and regionally but also statewide. They are also well recognized nationally. Through Fine Arts, we have changed the climate and culture for students here in Hearne ISD. They are confident, not afraid to fail, and always willing to learn.
I have witnessed students from different backgrounds and cultures grow and develop in ways that help them understand who they are and find a purpose in life. They also rely on each other to peer-teach and succeed. In my classes, I often serve as a facilitator, allowing students to work in groups. We teach students the importance of working with people from different backgrounds to achieve a common goal.
